Advanced Environmental Air Engineer/ Environmental Engineer III

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Main Role

Environmental Engineers plan, design and supervise a variety of industrial activities and processes in oil and gas to prevent, control or remediate potential environmental impacts. They can specialize in a specific area such as air, water or waste management. Environmental auditing, testing and regulatory compliance/reporting are key activities in this role. Work may include water and waste treatment, site investigation and remediation where environmental site assessments are completed, and pollution control. They participate in or lead regulatory processes, such as environmental impact assessments, that review facilities or field operations to ensure compliance with government regulations and permitting conditions.

Job Responsibilities

Experienced environmental air engineer providing strategic, cross-functional, and industry leadership in the areas of air emissions estimating, monitoring, and control.
Identify air emissions estimating, monitoring, and control opportunities, develop technology, and apply technology to advance strategic priorities.
Engage in air emissions estimation, measurement, and controls initiatives at all stages of asset development and operation (i.e. project development, manufacturing site troubleshooting)
Develop guidance and tools for estimating and measuring air emissions from sources in Oil and Gas and Petrochemical facilities (i.e. Tanks, Fugitives, Combustion Equipment, Wastewater, Vents, Loading).
Provide troubleshooting and operating guidance for air emissions control technology at Oil and Gas and Petrochemical facilities (i.e. Selective Catalytic Reduction, Wet Gas Scrubbers, Electrostatic Precipitators)
Develop strategies for air emissions control technology selection in projects at Oil and Gas and Petrochemical facilities that meet economic, regulatory, and sustainability targets.
Evaluate, develop, and deploy air emissions estimating, measurement, and control technologies.
Participate in industry committees (i.e. American Petroleum Institute (API)) to advance the development of air emissions estimating, measurement, and control strategies and technologies
Provide management with understanding of technical and business risks associated with air emissions estimating, measurement, and control solutions.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers working on air-related initiatives and develop capabilities of less experienced environmental air engineers.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent
Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in developing raw water and wastewater treatment solutions, preferably for the Oil and Gas and Petrochemical Industrial sector.
Experience operating, designing, and/or troubleshooting air emissions control technology (i.e Selective Catalytic Reduction, Wet Gas Scrubbers, Electrostatic Precipitators)
Experience estimating and measuring air emissions from Oil and Gas and Petrochemical facilities (i.e Tanks, Fugitives, Combustion Equipment, Wastewater, Vents, Loading).
Working knowledge of Air Emissions Estimating programs and/or process modeling software (i.e Toxchem, TankESP, ProMax, Aspen, Pro/II, PHAST)
Understanding of air dispersion modeling methodology and tools (i.e PHAST, AERMOD, AERSCREEN) for guiding selection of air emissions control applications
Working knowledge of air monitoring programs/technology (i.e CEMS, PEMS, OGI, Method 21)
Problem solving skills: Identify and implement improvements and apply broad technical and business skills and expertise to solve complex problems.
Technical leadership experience (formal or informal) in projects and/or operations.
Experience executing projects or studies.
Experience interfacing with operating organizations.
Engagement with external supplier/customer/vendor
