About the department
We are excited to announce the establishment of a new Corporate Affairs function. This new unit will bring together the Executive Office, Strategy, Data and Insights, and our externally facing corporate functions, including Communications, Media, and Sustainability. By integrating these key areas, we aim to enhance our strategic alignment and ensure a cohesive approach to our corporate initiatives. You will be part of a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a team focused on making a positive impact. This role reports to Head of Corporate Affairs.
The position
As a Sustainability Senior Manager, you will drive the development and execution of sustainability strategies in the APAC region, ensuring close collaboration with local management, the region, and affiliates.
- Develop strategies to address environmental and social issues in the region, aligning with global priorities and collaborating with International Operations (IO) and Headquarter (HQ).
- Lead social and environmental initiatives in collaboration with affiliates and stakeholders, guiding affiliates in on-the-ground activities.
- Establish KPIs to measure the success of sustainability initiatives.
- Develop and execute internal communication strategies to effectively convey sustainability efforts to employees and ensure alignment across the organization.
- Monitor and assess the feasibility of scaling sustainability initiatives based on local needs and affiliate capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, business, or a related field Master’s degree is preferred.
- 7-8 years of experience in developing and implementing sustainability strategies or social/environmental responsibility projects, preferably in the pharmaceutical or related industry.
- Proven ability to drive sustainability initiatives through stakeholder engagement across diverse cultures and seniority levels, with expertise in indirect leadership, motivation, and influence.
- Strong experience in establishing and managing external partnerships in sustainability, within the private and public sectors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels and ability to analyse data and present findings clearly and compellingly.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
