Position Overview:
As a CDL Class B Driver at Weitsman Recycling, you will be an integral part of our transportation team, responsible for ensuring accurate and timely deliveries while upholding the highest standards of safety and customer service. Reporting directly to the Director of Transportation, you will carry out a diverse range of responsibilities with precision and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
- Material Verification: Thoroughly inspect and verify the accuracy of materials prior to departure, ensuring compliance with delivery specifications and customer requirements.
- Load Security: Safely and securely load materials onto the truck, utilizing appropriate securing techniques to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
- Delivery Execution: Navigate delivery routes efficiently and safely, adhering to all traffic laws and company protocols. Execute deliveries promptly and with attention to detail, ensuring products are unloaded and positioned as per customer instructions.
- Safe Driving Practices: Demonstrate exceptional driving skills in a variety of conditions, including adverse weather and road conditions. Exercise caution and awareness at all times, maintaining control of the vehicle and minimizing risks.
- Communication: Maintain clear and open communication channels with supervisors and dispatchers, providing updates on delivery progress, any issues encountered, and customer feedback.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on assigned vehicle, promptly reporting any issues or concerns to management. Ensure vehicles are kept clean, organized, and in compliance with safety regulations.
- Customer Service: Exemplify professionalism and courtesy in all interactions with customers, representing the company's values and commitment to service excellence.
- Warehouse Support: Assist in warehouse operations as needed, including loading and unloading trucks using forklifts, and fulfilling additional tasks such as stock material pulling and order processing.
- Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve delivery challenges, demonstrating resourcefulness and adaptability in finding effective solutions.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Valid CDL Class B License: Hold a current and valid CDL Class B license with a clean driving record, demonstrating adherence to safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Attention to Detail: Possess strong attention to detail, with the ability to accurately verify materials and follow delivery instructions precisely.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Demonstrate basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures, ensuring safe and reliable operation of assigned vehicles.
- Customer Focus: Prioritize customer satisfaction and service excellence, with a proactive approach to addressing customer needs and concerns.
