The Andersons, Inc. - Clymers, IN
Each year, as part of the Renewables segment, The Andersons refines corn into millions of gallons of ethanol, a low-cost, clean-burning, high-octane, renewable fuel product for refiners, fuel blenders, and convenience stores.
Our investment in ethanol is a natural extension of our core business competencies in grain operations, corn originations, and commodity processing. We are a significant investor in, as well as manage the operations of, The Andersons Marathon Holdings LLC, with four plants located in Albion, Michigan; Clymers, Indiana; Greenville, Ohio; and Denison, Iowa.
In addition to ethanol, these facilities collectively produce E-85, feed products, and corn oil, which is key to the renewable diesel industry.

This position is responsible for managing small work teams in a fast paced, high volume, production environment. Under direction of the Process Manager, the Processing Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day production of ethanol, to achieve productivity and quality goals while maintaining a safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage, monitor and administer the requirements of the Process Safety Management and Mechanical Integrity programs.
Track daily and weekly production. Identify issues, make recommendations for process improvement and execute corrective action when necessary.
Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are developed, updated, and maintained.
Develop team member knowledge and skills in key areas such as, safe work practices and plant operations via training, mentoring and competency certification.
Lead operational integration of new processes.
Assist and support in planning and executing planned maintenance outages.
Assist with incident investigations.
What is expected of you and others at this level
Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of a business or technical support or production team
Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors
Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plan, receives guidance and oversight from a manager
Typically, does not spend more than 20% of time performing the work supervised
Minimum Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline required)
3-5 years’ relevant experience required (Production or Chemical environment preferred)
2+ years supervisor experience
Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications
Valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements and Working Environment
Work is performed in a 24x7 Ethanol production facility. This position involves frequent exposure to adverse weather conditions, dirt, dust, fumes, noise, heights, and intermittent lifting of heavy objects. Must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
