MAJOR DUTIES: As a Supervisory Equal Employment Specialist within the Office of Equal Employment Opportunity, some of your specific duties will include: Serves as the supervisor the Affirmative Employment Program (AEP)/Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Management Division, and directly supervises the work unit. Makes substantial contributions in establishing overall operating policies, priorities, procedures and plans in directing the AEP/D&I Program. Administers the Affirmative Employment and Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Programs. Implements policy oversight guidance, and manages the MD-715 Program, Disability Employment Program, that includes Reasonable Accommodations Program, Special Emphasis Program, Diversity and Inclusion Management Program, and the EEO/D&I Training. Serves as the USGS DEO technical expert with responsibility to analyze workforce data and develop affirmative Equal Employment Opportunity Plans to increase the diversity of the USGS. Serves as the USGS DEO technical expert for a series of Special Emphasis Programs and supports the Chief DEO in carrying out the functions of the office as they relate to compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures that govern Equal Employment Opportunity. Manages the USGS EEO/D&I Training Management Program. Develops and implements EEO, diversity and inclusion training. Administers the D&I keys goals of attraction, retention, and development. Serves as USGS technical expert in designing collaborative strategies that promote inclusiveness and respect in the workplace. Advocate and influence senior leadership actions and decisions through analysis and demonstration of EEO affirmative employment and D&I programs.
