Shift Energy Group seeks an Inside Solar Sales Consultant in Mississauga, ON to join our national Sales team. As a solar consultant at Shift, you will showcase a varied, intelligent, and compassionate approach when interacting with our clients, vendors, and colleagues. Our Inside Solar Sales Consultants receive a steady stream of warm leads generated by our in-house Digital Marketing Team. Through targeted marketing campaigns and data-driven strategies, our marketing experts identify and engage potential customers, ensuring that Sales Consultants receive high-quality, pre-qualified leads. This approach allows consultants to focus on building relationships, understanding customer needs, and closing sales — on top of their self-generated opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule in-house consultations that are set up through internal leads.
- Engage in outbound communication with potential clients and leads via email and phone.
- Work independently in your designated market and maintaining motivation with minimal supervision.
- Practice and effectively use persuasive communication skills and tools virtually and in-person to close the sale.
- Attend sales meetings and actively contribute to team discussions and strategies.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to align with our client's availability. Note that working over 40 hours per week is quite common for our solar consultants.
- Utilize various online tools and software programs for processing information.
- Keep up to date with market trends and continuously learn about our products and services.
- Directly report to the Sales Manager.
- Have access to a dependable and clean vehicle.
- Maintain a clean driving record.
Working Conditions:
- This semi-remote position as a Solar Sales Consultant involves regular travel within the region, including visits to client sites and potential sales locations, which may be local or occasionally farther away.
- The role includes working in diverse settings such as trade shows and community events.
- Working hours are flexible; while there may be regular office hours, evening or weekend work is often required to meet with clients or attend events.
- The job may require physical activity, such as walking around large properties to assess sites for solar panel installation.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience in sales or commission-based roles is required, with a strong preference for experience in home development products and B2C sales.
- Secondary school completion.
- Fluency in writing, speaking, and reading English is required.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high levels of self-motivation and productivity.
- Sales experience working specifically with homeowners is especially preferred.
- Previous solar PV and energy sales experience is preferred, and willing to train the right candidate(s)
We Offer:
- Base salary with additional commission and bonus opportunities.
- After completing the 6-month employment, the sales consultant may receive full commission-based compensation and other incentives.
- Successful candidates have the potential to earn over $200,000 per year in this role, contingent on meeting performance targets and sales goals.
