JOB SUMMARY: This position serves on the State Conservationist's staff in a state office of the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and is supervised by the State Conservationist. This position is Assistant State Conservationist - Programs (ASTC-P), with responsibility for the coordination, direction, and evaluation of program activities statewide. The incumbent serves as program manager for various assigned programs in the state and for programs of other agencies. MAJOR DUTIES: Represents the Service at conferences or meetings relating to areas of responsibility. Establishes and maintains contacts and cooperative relations with Federal and state agencies, Tribes, municipal and private organizations.
