About Us

Youngstown State University (YSU) offers about 100 undergraduate majors, more than 30 graduate programs, and doctorate programs in education and physical therapy. The university has an enrollment of more than 13,000 students in its six undergraduate colleges (business administration; education; health and human services; fine and performing arts; liberal arts and social sciences; and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), as well as a school of graduate studies and research. Its tuition is the lowest among Ohio's major public universities. YSU was founded in 1908. Its athletic teams are known as the Penguins.
