Position Overview

VALiNTRY is seeking an experienced Commercial Solar Business Development Manager to drive the growth of commercial solar energy projects throughout Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois. This is an outstanding opportunity for a consultative sales professional with strong technical aptitude and a passion for renewable energy to help businesses reduce operating costs through customized solar solutions.

The ideal candidate will understand commercial energy requirements, develop tailored solar solutions in partnership with engineering teams, and manage the entire sales process from initial consultation through contract execution. Success in this role requires the ability to build trusted relationships with business leaders while consistently exceeding sales goals.

Compensation

The target base salary for this position is $60,000 plus an uncapped commission structure.

Responsibilities

Client Consultation

Meet with commercial clients to evaluate energy usage and identify opportunities for solar energy solutions.
Analyze energy consumption and determine the feasibility of commercial solar installations.
Educate prospective customers on the financial and operational benefits of commercial solar systems.

Solution Development

Partner with engineering teams to develop customized commercial solar system designs.
Prepare professional proposals that include system layouts, production estimates, financial analysis, and return on investment projections.
Present technical solutions in a clear and meaningful manner to business decision makers.

Business Development

Manage the complete sales cycle from prospecting through contract negotiation and project handoff.
Develop new commercial business opportunities throughout the assigned territory.
Build long term relationships with facility managers, business owners, executives, and key stakeholders.
Generate repeat business and referral opportunities through exceptional customer service.

Market Intelligence

Stay current on commercial solar market trends, utility programs, incentive opportunities, and industry regulations.
Monitor competitor activity and provide recommendations to strengthen market position.
Identify emerging opportunities within target industries and geographic markets.

Sales Performance

Consistently achieve or exceed established sales goals.
Maintain an active pipeline of qualified commercial opportunities.
Accurately forecast sales activity and revenue.

Qualifications

Proven success selling commercial solar projects or similar technical business to business solutions.
Strong understanding of commercial solar energy systems and their applications.
Experience presenting technical solutions to executive level decision makers.
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship building skills.
Ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and compelling manner.
Knowledge of renewable energy regulations, utility incentives, and industry programs.
Demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
Self motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills.
Willingness to travel throughout Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois.
