The primary purpose of this position is to provide quality customer focused and professional environmental health, public health , and protection of environment services. We will trust you to bring: Tertiary qualification in environmental health or related discipline Environmental health and public health experience Knowledge of relevant Acts Strong communication skills Negotiation and problem-solving skills Report writing skills Excellent customer service Class C Drivers Licence Things you will do: Undertake inspections of premises and implement Council’s inspection programs for registered food premises and vendors, and other health-related premises or activities Investigate, assess and determine environmental health, public health customer requests Assess and determine development applications and other local government applications Effectively implement regulatory environmental and public health programs and services. Issue notices, orders, directions and penalty infringements and undertake enforcement responsibilities Preparation of reports, information and documentation Represent Council on various internal and external committees, working groups and organisations Appear as an expert witness in the Land and Environment Court and Local Court and preparation of statements of evidence Further information: View the Position Description online or contact Oscar Guillen, Coordinator Environmental Health, on 02 9093 6949.
