About
Sustainability is at the core of my professional undertaking and personal thinking!
Started my professional experience in a private Bangladeshi commercial bank (United Commercial Bank -UCB) in 2009 and soon, moved towards the activities leading to sustainable business practices through initiation of the Bank's Green Banking Policy. Despite several shifting within the job, Sustainable and Green Banking was my key working areas, notably from 2019 to 2023. The Bank was awarded as being one of the "Top-Ten Sustainable Banks in Bangladesh" in 2020 and 2022.
Now, while earning knowledge at Rotterdam Business School in International Supply Chain Management, focus still remains on becoming a Sustainable Supply Chain Manager.
My research contribution led a team of seven to clinch the title in a prestigious 5-day "Sustainable Pressure Cooker (SPC)" Challenge while resolving and creating a new business model that is sustainable and traceable for Cefetra's soy supply chain from the South American regions to the EU complying with the EU Deforestation-free Regulation (EUDR).
Another achievement was advancing a team of four from the debacle in a business simulation game of “The Fresh Connection”. The team’s ROI in the first two round dived down to 9.9%; however, playing the role of Operations Manager, my decisions enabled the team to achieve an enhanced ROI of 7.2%, while significantly saving several cost components from 90 – 100%, particularly in the last round.
As part of Operations and Maritime Management, forecasted annual demand for Tesla Model Y in Europe for 2024; drawn Supply Chain Network from Shanghai to Rotterdam; identified the business and process strategies, lean processes, hinterland transport options and resilience during disruptions in the supply chain
Other notable activities are measurement of carbon footprint using online tools (e.g., CO2 Meter, CarbonCare, Route Scanner, etc.) during transportation for Dutch Cheese company, Westland Kaas; gained basic understanding on Life Cycle Assessment of a particular product; researched the size and demand of the global cheese market.
Also prepared Supply Chain Network Design (ND) for a giant Spanish retailer Mercadona; measured CO2 emission and researched on the global grape market
