Job Summary:

The Environmental Intern will support a variety of environmental and sustainability-related activities across compliance audits, system updates, and continuous improvement efforts. This role provides hands-on experience in environmental assessments, process improvements, corrective actions, and supporting documentation updates.

Essential Functions:

Assist with environmental inspections, audits, and compliance assessments.
Collect, analyze, and maintain environmental data and reports.
Support rebranding and organization of controlled environmental documents.
Conduct hazardous chemical inventory analysis for regulatory reporting (e.g., SARA Title III Tier II).
Aid in updates to Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plans, and environmental compliance procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

No supervisory responsibility

Minimum Qualifications:

Strong attention to detail, especially in document management, environmental audits, and system updates.
Knowledge of environmental management systems (ISO 14001) and environmental compliance regulations (e.g., SARA Title III, SPCC).
Analytical skills for identifying process gaps, tracking waste, and supporting corrective actions.
Strong communication and organizational skills to collaborate across teams and support improvement initiatives.
Ability to learn and adapt to new regulatory compliance standards, customer requirements, and environmental documentation practices.

Education & Experience

Pursuing a bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
High School Diploma or GED

Background Prerequisites:

Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks, physical, and controlled substance testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Experience with researching topics
Previous employment with a focus on team-work
