What does An Environmental Tech do?

As an Environmental Technician at Fellowship Community, your mission will be to uphold the cleanliness and environmental quality of all Fellowship Community buildings and campus. You will play a vital role in ensuring that our facilities meet and exceed federal, state, and local regulations and standards. Are you a good fit for this Environmental Tech job?

To thrive as an Environmental Technician at Fellowship Community, you will need a blend of skills and experience that align with our high standards. Previous cleaning experience in a hospital or skilled nursing facility is preferred, as you'll be working in a sensitive environment where safety and hygiene are paramount. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a basic understanding of federal, state, and local skilled nursing regulations. Your ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate effectively in English is crucial. Familiarity with computer systems, along with knowledge of floor and carpet care equipment, will enhance your efficiency.

Physical stamina is key, as you must lift, push, or pull more than 100 pounds, and be capable of sweeping, mopping, and climbing ladders. Understanding Geriatrics and Dementia, along with a valid Pennsylvania driver's license, will be essential for your success in maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

Cleaning experience in a hospital
skilled nursing facility or other related facility is preferred.
§ High school education or equivalent.
§ Basic knowledge of federal
state
and local skilled nursing regulations.
§ Must be able to read
write
comprehend
and speak English.
§ Basic Computer skills
§ Knowledge of floor and carpet care equipment.
§ Must be able to lift
push
or pull in excess of one hundred (100) pounds.
§ Must be able to sweep
dry and wet mop
and climb a ladder.
§ Must have an understanding of Geriatrics and Dementia.
§ Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Drivers license.
§ Must be able to operate janitorial and maintenance equipment in a safe
efficient manner

§ Successful completion of Fellowship Community orientation.
§ Meets requirements of Pre-hire assessment
