The Sustainability Business - Public Sector is looking for an Energy Team Lead that will support the Southeast Region.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of energy engineers, setting team goals and priorities.
- Evaluate team performance and provide feedback and coaching to support professional growth.
- Interview and make hiring decisions to build the best team.
- Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of energy efficiency projects, ensuring they meet client requirements, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and manage budgets, timelines, and resources for energy engineering projects
- Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project success.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize project workflows, streamline processes, and drive continuous improvement in project execution and delivery.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and government regulations related to energy efficiency and sustainability.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in energy engineering, energy management, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a project lead role.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is strongly preferred.
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification is strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in building systems, including HVAC, lighting, and controls, and their energy performance characteristics.
- Expertise in energy modeling software and tools (e.g., EnergyPlus, eQUEST, HAP) and data analysis software (e.g., Excel, Python).
- Familiarity with building codes, energy standards, and government regulations related to energy efficiency in existing buildings.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable recommendations.
- Passion for sustainability and a desire to make a positive impact on the environment.
