Overview
The Inspection Technician is a vital team member in ensuring Sunrun customers solar becomes operational. This position is responsible for scheduling, performing and recording all required inspections for installed projects, per each jurisdiction. These inspections lead to successful sign-off and milestone completion, allowing an installation to become functional. As Sunrun continues to help build a more sustainable future, Inspections Technicians have the opportunity to work directly with our customers and see that contribution come to life.
Responsibilities/The Impact
Perform solar, electrical, or building inspections as scheduled
Coordinate inspections with customers and jurisdictions
Maintain an organized and efficient calendar, highlighting existing appointments, as well as availability for additional inspections
Build a positive and lasting customer experience, discussing project timelines post inspection signoff, detailing and communicating concerns internally
Use software systems to record, maintain and update project specific deliverables and tasks
Complete unforeseeable minor punch list items such as painting conduit, applying NEC stickers/placards, etc.
Qualifications/How You Will Be Successful
Previous PV design, PV installation or PV electrical experience (such as reading blueprints or plans, using tools and equipment, testing wiring or circuitry, National Electric Code knowledge, basic electrical theory knowledge, etc.) is helpful with a minimum of one year of field construction experience preferred
Must be 21 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record with the ability to pass a driving background check
Adhere to company safety policies and procedures including ability to identify and report safety hazards, and the ability to encourage others to work safely
Must be a motivated teammate, looking to succeed and contribute to the shared goals with excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong communication skills in order to offer exceptional customer service and interact with customers in a courteous and professional manner
Physical Demands
Ability to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces which requires frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing, and balance
Ability to transport materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks (up to 50 pounds frequently)
Ability to work and maintain balance on roofs and other areas of height
Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces which requires kneeling and crouching
Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including but not limited to: excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet environment, and humidity
Ability to frequently utilize hand functions requiring fine motor skills including but not limited to: fine manipulation, grasping, and pinching
Ability to work within the safe range of equipment such as ladders, fall protection harnesses and other personal protective equipment
Ability to hear verbal commands and warnings
Ability to walk on rafters, roof tiles, and roof shingles without damage
Ability to work in the sun and possibly low light conditions

Starting salary/wage for this opportunity:
$24.07 to $32.09
