JOB SUMMARY: The Pacific West Region is recruiting for summer seasonal Sign Painter Helper, WG-4104-5 positions intended to assist permanent staff with sign painting field work. MAJOR DUTIES: Duty location is: Yosemite National Park Major Duties Operating different types of signs making tools and equipment ranging from routers, power saws, sanders, computer-controlled cutters and laser engravers. Making wood signs from rough lumber including painting letters and staining. Create various types of plaques and awards using wood, aluminum, brass and other materials typical to the industry. Use computers and various programs to operate sign making equipment to cut, layout and make signs. Make signs from work orders and/or blueprints. Physical Demands: Required to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts, carries and sets up parts and equipment that weigh up to 40 pounds. Moderate to heavy physical effort may be used or needed while installing or relocating signs and materials. Working Conditions: You will work outside in extreme temperatures or inclement weather. Incumbent is subjected to gases and fumes, sometimes within an enclosed area. You are subject to the soiling of clothing and skin surfaces.
