The salary range is dependent on experience level ranging from $101,400 to $126,755.
Job Summary
Responsible for leadership in design, implementation, maintenance, and continuous development of Operation Technologies Outage Management systems (OMS) and Back Office Applications. The OMS application suite includes a core OMS system (Java/NetBeans, Oracle) integrated with the EMS/SCADA system and takes advantage of automation. The web-based OMS applications (Tomcat, JavaScript, Angular, Oracle) interfaces with the core system and produces a rich array of reports, situational awareness and outage management tools for the larger OMS community. The Back Office applications are a diverse set of applications and reports that integrate with SCADA/EMS/OMS systems along with various tools (change management, workflow, automation, …) used across Smart Grids and Elec/Gas operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership in providing technical support to Outage Management system (OMS) users, both inside and outside of the Energy Control center, especially during storms.
- Leadership in working with staff, contractors and business area management to specify, design, develop, integrate various system updates ranging from but fix to large software releases.
- Mentor and help manage less experienced personnel for efficiency and personal growth.
- Perform a PM role in projects as needed by team.
Required Qualifications
- Education and Experience Requirements: Meet at least one of the following:
- AS Technical related Degree with 20+ years’ technical experience.
- AS Engineering Degree with 18+ years’ technical experience.
- BS Technical related Degree with 15+ years’ technical experience.
- BS Engineering Degree with 12+ years’ technical experience.
- MS Technical related Degree with 10+ years’ technical experience.
- MS Engineering Degree with 7+ years’ technical experience.
- Strong leadership, analytical, complex problem solving and successful negotiation skills.
- Experience and proactive mind to work as a system designer/developer and capacity to lead discussions with managers and senior technicians within the organization to meet priorities and resolve issues.
- Good working knowledge of programming languages
- Design, development of web-based applications.
- Design, development of client-server applications.
- Interfacing with API libraries, web services.
- Familiarity with software repository programs.
- Understanding of relevant Compliance Regulations and Policies. (NERC-CIP, Etc.)
- Understanding and knowledge of Databases (Microsoft SQL, Oracle, Etc.)
- The ability to demonstrate good communication skills both written and orally. This communication would be with team members, other departments, regulating authorities and leadership local and abroad.
- Experience to make sound decisions while working in a high pressure environment outside normal working hours.
- Working in storm or other emergency conditions for 24x7x365 system support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding Networking, security, computer hardware, software applications and data communication equipment.
- Network diagrams, firewall rules, ports and services.
- Competence and willingness to work with business SMEs and leadership on achieving consensus for applications design and business rules.
- Knowledge of Electrical Theory and understanding of the Electric Transmission and Distribution.
