ABOUT THE JOB
The Tepa Companies are seeking an Assistant Project Manager that will assist Project Managers with all aspects of projects to include client relationships, schedules, budgets, and profitability through comprehensive project completion. This role works closely with project teams to ensure contractual requirements are met, quality deliverables are submitted, and client satisfaction is achieved. The Assistant Project Manager may serve as the Project Manager for some projects with the supervision of a Senior Project Manager.
Job Functions:
- Assists Project Managers with multiple environmental remediation, compliance, investigation, and technical support projects for Department of Defense (DoD) or other Federal government clients.
- Supports concurrent project schedules and budgets.
- Assists the project and its execution from proposal through closeout.
- Reviews project documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Assists Project Managers with every aspect of the project management process including securing consultants, subcontractors, vendors, specialty contractors.
- Develops work plans and aids in project staffing.
- Assists Project Managers with ensuring quality control and assurance.
- Supports the project team and tracks project progress.
- Plans, schedules, and assists project timelines to ensure deadlines are met.
- Contributes to all team efforts by taking ownership of assigned tasks and duties and is fully transparent and accountable for the successful performance of assigned tasks.
- Performs all duties with the highest possible degree of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
- 3 - 5 years of environmental project support experience to include remediation, compliance, investigations and/or restoration
- Capability of supporting multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability and desire to build rapport with field staff, office staff, clientele, Tepa management staff, subcontractors
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform at a high level under stringent project deadlines
- Ability to prioritize required tasks to meet multiple schedule deadlines
- Awareness of potential clients, competition, and teaming partners
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel
- Dedicated attention to detail
Preferred Education and Experience (not required):
- On track for Licensed Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE)
- Federal and DoD project management experience
- Experience supporting projects over $500K in value
- PMP or other project management related certifications
- Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation
- Familiarity with Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC), Formerly Used Defense Sites (FUDS) programs and Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC), and United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) clients
