OhioGuidestone is looking for detailed and team oriented Environmental Specialists to work at our Cleveland campus.
This individual could work in multiple buildings and will share responsibilities with other staff. Responsibilities include; mopping, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, cleaning windows/doors, and buffing/waxing when needed. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to learn new skills quickly are required. Additional cleaning duties may be added as needed.
We have 1 Full-time position available:
Monday - Friday Full-time day person. 8am to 4:30pm
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides cleaning services which include, but are not limited to:
- Vacuuming and cleaning carpeted areas
- Dusting and polishing furniture
- Window and Glass cleaning
- Mopping, waxing an buffing hard surfaces
- Cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms & kitchens
- Emptying waste containers
- Lock and unlock assigned buildings; secure building when facilities are not in use checking for unlocked doors and windows, report any unauthorized occupants & turning off lights
- Following instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Using as directed on the label
- Safely operate all job related equipment and make minor repairs to equipment as needed.
- Maintains reliable attendance.
- Exhibits positivity, flexibility and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required.
- Employee may be asked to complete related duties other than those indicated above as assigned by their supervisor.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Attention to detail, ability to follow directions and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner.
- Maintain cooperative working relationships and demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse population.
- Read, write, understand and clearly speak English.
Performance/Physical Requirements:
- Requires full body motion, including ability to perform work while lifting, bending, stooping, crouching, squatting and reaching.
- Requires continuous walking and standing on various surfaces (tile, concrete, carpet).
- Lifting up to 50 pounds, including cleaning supplies, moving furniture at times and climbing stairs in buildings with multiple levels.
- Requires regular safe handling, use and disposal of disinfectants, pesticides, hazardous material and other cleaning agents and chemicals.
- Requires ability to operate commercial cleaning equipment.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/General Educational Development (GED)
- Knowledgeable in all phases of residential and light commercial cleaning operations. Previous cleaning experience is preferred.
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License with a safe driving record and valid insurance preferred.
- Ability to take and pass a physical exam and drug screening.
- Employment is contingent upon clear results of a thorough background check.
