Position & Job Description
HRP Group has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Environmental Construction and Remediation Team in the greater Philadelphia area.
The Project Manager will report to the Senior Vice President of Environmental Construction and will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day activities associated with implementation of soil and groundwater management and remediation programs on complex redevelopment projects.
General Responsibilities
The job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Project Administration and Management
Management of consultants and contractors to ensure redevelopment construction activities occur in compliance with site-specific plans and regulatory requirements.
Management of scope, schedule, and budget for environmental professional, waste disposal, and environmental permitting services.
Review of consultant and contractor proposals for environmental professional services, waste disposal services, and other services in support of environmental compliance and construction activities.
Review and approval of consultant and contractor invoices and interfacing with project accounting teams to ensure appropriate coding and timely payment of invoices.
Coordination and Communication
Daily coordination with HRP’s industrial and mixed-use development teams to coordinate the scope and schedule of environmental sampling and remediation activities with the broader redevelopment project.
Active participation in regular meetings with consultants and contractors to discuss design plans and construction status and to assist in ensuring that environmental and remediation objectives are appropriately integrated into development planning and execution.
Communication with consultants and contractors to resolve unanticipated environmental conditions identified and/or releases occurring during earthwork or subgrade demolition.
Coordination of field activities for environmental sampling, remediation, and waste disposal tasks to maintain schedule and support project goals.
Technical Review and Consultation
Technical review of regulatory submittals prepared by consultants and contractors in support of construction and remediation activities.
Review of field documentation prepared by consultants and contractors to verify that construction is occurring in accordance with site-specific requirements.
Skills/Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental engineering, environmental science, construction management, or related field.
7+ years of experience working on environmental remediation and/or construction projects
Experience managing teams and communicating project requirements and objectives
Experience managing contractors and performing construction quality assurance or construction oversight on environmental remediation projects
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans, including grading plans, building plans, and infrastructure plans
