The Role
Hours: Standard M-F 8:00-5:00
The Environmental Compliance Specialist is responsible for providing support to the Regional Environmental Manager, interacting with regulatory agencies, monitoring leak detection and compliance testing of underground storage tank systems, monitoring and controlling spending and coordinating emergency response for environmental issues.
Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Notice of Violations – Response to all violations incurred
- Inspections – Coordinate all inspections to be conducted (except Texas). Arrange inspections with inspectors, rectify deficiencies found in inspections conducted by Crompco through Maintenance and Sales Representative to correct, where possible, prior to filing inspection report.
- Report failures, as required.
- Inventory Control Variances: Works with reportable to ensure all investigations are documented and acted upon. Tracks causes of variances and works with Operations, Maintenance, and Fuel Dispatch to ensure that the causes of variances are addressed per customer specified protocols
- Manages and maintains compliance with state-specific fuel inventory reconciliation regulations
- Leak Detection Verification & Reporting-using a remote connection, ensure all fueling systems have monthly and if required weekly passing leak detection results. Ensures results for each fueling system at each store are archived in the required databases and accessible when there is an inspection of the facility. Work with Sales Representatives in ensuring dealers remain in Compliance with regulations
- Develop statistics regarding leak detection for review with managers and Operations to communicate trends and develop a plan of action
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or five years of related experience and/or training.
