Position type and expected hours of work: Part-time position, Monday through Friday, at a nonspecific time. Overtime is occasionally necessary.
Summary: Responsible for performing duties related to the Environmental Department's needs. Most work is independent. Position is expected to perform job duties efficiently with minor oversight.
Essential functions:
Environmental Intern
- Data input, organization, and management for analytical results received from laboratories.
- Minor interpretation of data for quality control purposes
- Work with other environmental teams across the company to ensure data is readily available.
- Communicate action levels to appropriate team when reviewing data.
- Operate copy machine, postage machine, and other office equipment, as necessary.
- Actively manage and complete assigned projects promptly.
- May assist with the preparation of Environmental reports, as needed.
- Always possess and maintain a high standard of confidentiality, both written and oral, with all employee documentation within the department and organization.
Competency: Strong written and oral communication skills. Must be detail-oriented, accurate, flexible, dependable, and a team player. Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel Spreadsheets. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of office management systems and procedures. Ability to operate general office equipment.
Work environment: The position requires the employee to work in the office.
Physical demands: The position primarily requires sitting, typing, and viewing a computer, but can include field work such as soil and residual sampling.
Travel: Limited travel is expected with this position.
Preferred education and experience: Currently in College, majoring in crop, soil, water or environmental sciences or environmental engineering.
