MAIN COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCES
- An advanced degree, preferably with a specialization in sustainability
- Prior 5 years of experience in a corporate, consulting
- Strong project management skills, able to conduct complex projects with many internal and external stakeholders
- Familiarity with regulation such as devoir de vigilance and CS3D is a plus
- Ability to manage non-financial reporting
- IT skills (Microsoft office) – Good knowledge of Excel
- Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken, able to speak in front of large audience online and offline

Within the Group, you will join the Group Sustainability Team and play a crucial role in amplifying our sustainability strategy through upskilling, awareness raising, and cultural transformation.
The Group Sustainability Team has 3 strategic pillars\:
- Acting as a key partner for our customers, economy and society on climate transition and adaptation through AXA’s climate strategy
- Enhancing AXA’s social impact through the development of its inclusive insurance strategy
- Amplifying our sustainability strategy through volunteering, scientific philanthropy and upskilling.
Within this Department, you will be part of the team ESG Engagement and Philanthropy who is leading (1) the management of the network of sustainability lead in entities including the annual maturity assessment survey (2) the volunteering engagement and sustainability linked philanthropy partnerships (3) Upskilling, awareness raising and sustainability transformation.
Your job and daily missions\:
JOB PURPOSE
Within the ESG Engagement and Philanthropy team, the sustainability network coordinator will oversee the management of the relationship with the sustainability leads in all AXA’s entities.
AXA Groups sets the sustainability strategy and the AXA for Progress Index, a group of KPIs and targets to monitor its progress. All the entities of AXA are contributing at their level to the achievement of these targets. This is why, all the sustainability leads in entities are coordinated through a global network ensuring a common understanding of the Group’s strategy and policies and an efficient implementation. This role includes collective actions (bi-monthly calls, seminars, webinars …) as well as individual ones (entities roadshows, ad’hoc calls and deep-dive sessions). It also oversees the maturity assessment study that is done every year and is involved in the definition of the sustainability guidelines as well as the implementation of the Devoir de Vigilance and coming CS3D requirements.
To support AXA’s ambition on this Sustainability Strategy, this job is key to \: i) mobilize and update entities around the group strategy and the policies they need to implement, ii) contribute to the dissemination of best practices across entities to raise the overall maturity of the Groupe on sustainability matters, iii) support the sustainability community when necessary.
DIMENSION
The scope is global, spanning AXA Group and its entities in 50+ countries, both emerging and mature economies.
It involves\:
- Lead the AXA Entity Sustainability Index (AESI) every year to assess the level of maturity of each entities
- Update the questionnaire and scale to reflect the strategy and evolutions needed
- Conduct the reporting and ensure accurate results
- Publish results and deliver individual reports to entites
- Management of the Sustainability community across entities\:
- Implement a system to ensure all contact information is regularly updated.
- Establish a structured schedule for bi-monthly calls and annual seminars to foster regular engagement and knowledge exchange.
- Effectively disseminate all pertinent information and resources to the network leveraging different channels
- With other Group Sustainability teams and other Group functions, assess the information and training needs for the sustainability network.
- With Group legal and Group risk management contribute to comply to the devoir de vigilance requirements and the CS3D deployment.
CONTEXT AND MAJOR CHALLENGES
- Challenge and motivate entities to raise their level of maturity on all the spectrum of sustainability
- Capacity to collaborate with other teams and identify the information to be cascaded to the network and in which form (mail, training, new questions in AXA Entity Sustainability Index
- Maintain a close dialogue between Group sustainability and local sustainability leads, support the local teams in the understanding of their contribution to the group strategies and policies
- Support the implementation of the devoir the vigilance plan together with Group Legal
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Within the Group Sustainability team, this person will lead sustainability network management to support the achievement of sustainability targets by ensuring the sustainability strategy is well understood and implemented at local level and support the company’s cultural transformation on sustainability integration.
Key missions will include\:
- Network management
- Expected contribution\: Deploy and steer a strategy and a roadmap enabling an efficient coordination of AXA entities on sustainability related matters
- Major actions/tasks\:
- Identify the gaps in current strategy and propose solution to fill them
- Manage regular collective meetings enabling updates from group and best practice sharing
- Organize a sustainability seminar once a year or every 18 months defining clear objectives, invitees and expected contributions from other teams
- Organize regular dialogue with key entites and the 2 main markets (roadshow, regular catch’up calls, travels)
- Identify specific upskilling needs and propose appropriate answers (webinars, training etc ) in collaboration with the upskilling officer in particular
- Provide guidelines to entities to enable them to implement the group sustainability strategy in the best manner.
- Devoir de vigilance
- Expected contribution\: together with Group legal and Group risk management teams, ensure AXA is compliant with current and future regulations and organize the relevant support to entities in the implementation at local level of these regulations.
- Major actions/tasks\:
- Participate in the devoir de vigilance governance and organize regular catch ups with Group Legal, Group risk management and Group operations teams
- Contribute to building the action plan to fill the gaps identified by Group legal team
- Cascade guidelines to entities and follow implementation via reporting (AESI or ad’hoc questionnaire)
- If need be run ad’hoc project with external providers to improve the vigilance plan governance and implementation
- Reporting
- Expected contribution\: Run on a yearly bases the AXA Entity Sustainability Index (AESI), the group maturity assessment tool for all entities
- Major actions/tasks:
- Review and update the questionnaire bases with the teams in charge of each topics (ie volunteering, responsible investment, inclusive protection, governance etc …) – ensure it is aligned with the Group Sustainability strategy.
- Manage the relationship with external provider (contracting, invoicing …) with procurement and participate in the yearly assessment
- Organize trainings and support to help entities filling the AESI questionnaire
- Make sure entities respond on time and answer day to day questions they may have
- Organize the checks of all the answers with the relevant teams
- Calculate results and organize the reporting. Pilot the use of AI to automatize the individual reports and recommendation of best practices
- Prepare a powerpoint and Memo to share the results at different levels including the top management (Management Committee in particular)
