PURPOSE/MISSION:
This role is responsible for assisting the OSH & Environmental Assistant Manager in overseeing all matter regards to the plant’s Environmental, Safety & Health in close alignment with legal compliance, government regulations, company standards and to meet corporate health and safety objectives. Responsible for day-to-day operation activities including organizing an efficient & effective administration of the Safety, Health & Environment. Develops, recommends, and ensures implementation of new and/or improved incident management standards to maintain plant legal compliance with government regulations, company standards and to meet corporate health and safety objectives.
Also responsible for the enforcement of safety & health practices at site for day / night / weekend shift in rotation.
Major Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Implements plant level incident management program which will meet or exceed all legal and corporate minimum standards including management of first aid rooms, first aider developments as well as maintenance of first aid equipment’s. Continuously reduces loss experience utilizing knowledge and application of basic occupational health, first aid injuries management.
Assist Safety & Environmental Manager in implementation of safety inspection at night / day and manage with the respective department to close findings and effective corrective actions.
Lead implementation of effective incident management during incident as per company and legal requirement, implement immediate response, immediately inform safety manager, and communicate to relevant parties.
Provide treatment for minor ailments and provide first aid treatment to injuries, follow up and referrals and emergency care for job related injuries and illness at night shift.
Plan and conduct partial and full emergency evacuation drills (fire, accident, chemical spillage etc.) for night shift as per company requirement.
Conducting mandatory and specialized operation safety training, focusing on safe work methods and health and safety awareness.
Regularly audit and evaluate plant processes to ensure adherence to Tyson’s safety, health, and environmental standards, recommending improvements where necessary.
Support the execution and deployment of OSH Campaign and Program.
Ensure that all risk assessments are regularly updated in response to changes in operations, new equipment installations, incidents, or evolving legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications / Experience :
Degree holder in Occupational Safety & Health, or engineering degree with Green Book Competency
Preferably 1-5 years’ experience in contractor management or Incident Management
At least 3-5 years involvement in manufacturing
Must have very good English & Malay – spoken and written. Understanding of Hindi or Nepali is an advantage.
Strong analytical ability – includes being able make sense of large amounts of data, apply critical thinking to the interpretation and use.
