The role:
ERM is seeking a motivated Environmental, Health and Safety Consulting Associate with a passion for sustainability to join our growing team based in Belgium.
The role will be based in either Antwerp or Brussels, with frequent travels to client sites but also with flexible working arrangements.
ERM has a strong network of EHS experts who comes together globally to innovate our service offering for clients on regular basis through our internal technical community.

Our team works with clients in energy, technology, mining companies, through to multi-national corporate companies. And the services provided by the EHS/OP Team include EHS strategy, designing and implementing EHS management systems, compliance management support and delivering audit programmes; and cover the breadth of environmental through to health and safety disciplines.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide technical assistance on EHS compliance, sustainability, site investigation, and due diligence transaction projects.
Perform EHS compliance assessments and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Support the development of EHS compliance and management system programs.
Provide general EHS compliance support to clients, including on-site assistance as needed.
Support on the design and implementation of corporate Environmental, Health & Safety strategies and programs for HSE and Sustainability including diagnostics, compliance and technical audits, awareness raising, training programs, and hazard and risks identification and assessment.
Support on the design and implementation of activities related to H&S Training and field coaching, including competency assessment, training programs for behavioral change, human factor analysis and assessment.
Support on design and implementation of HSE and Sustainability governance processes aimed to drive Operational performance improvement of Organizations, including deployment of risk and opportunities assessment, development of management systems, planning and delivery of auditing activities, design and delivery of training programs.
Requirements:
Degree in engineering, environmental science, industrial safety, or related discipline.
Experience in the EHS-field is a plus.
Relevant experience across EHS and sustainability disciplines as a consultant or in industry is a plus.
Working knowledge of English (C1) and Dutch (CL1) is required.
Good knowledge of Belgium’s HSE legislation and international HSE & Sustainability Guidelines/Standards (e.g. SDGs, TCFD, ISO 14001, ISO45001, ISO 50001, ISO 26000, SA8000).
Motivated, enthusiastic, team player.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Experienced in writing comprehensive technical reports.
Quick learner, eye for detail, driven working ethic.
Client focused, able to develop and maintain long-term client relationships.
Able to work independently at client locations, with minimal supervision.
