Seeking an Environmental Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience and outstanding technical capabilities who can help advance a remediation practice in Orange County, California.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Designing and implementing remedial activities for soil, soil gas, and groundwater including in-situ remediation (ISCO, ISCR, etc.), SVE and vapor mitigation systems;
- Preparing work plans and reports associated with site investigations and remediation efforts including pilot test work plans, feasibility study reports, remedial action plans, remediation progress reports, and closure reports;
- Preparing and evaluating remedial cost estimates;
- Data management and analysis;
- Mentoring and training junior staff;
- Managing tasks including site investigations, groundwater monitoring events, SVE system O&M, soil excavations, remediation system installations, and chemical injections; and
- Interfacing with clients, including the development of new business opportunities and participation in business development functions.
The selected individual will report to senior personnel, be able to work largely independently, and follow company’s risk and quality management policies.
The selected individual may occasionally delegate assignments to junior personnel and be responsible for overseeing completion of tasks within budgetary, schedule, and other internal and external constraints.
Requirements
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in in a relevant engineering discipline (civil, chemical, environmental preferred). A Master’s degree with a focus on remediation is strongly preferred.
- Professional licensure in California preferred.
- 5 years of project management, site investigation, and remediation experience.
- Familiarity with technical requirements for site remediation in California.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and outstanding oral and written communication skills allowing positive internal, client, and contractor relationships.
- Excellent technical writing skills for environmental consulting applications
- Outstanding engineering/scientific problem-solving abilities.
This position requires successful completion of 40 hours of OSHA health and safety training for working with potentially contaminated materials (provided, as needed), annual 8-hour refresher courses, first aid training (every three years), CPR training (every year), and annual medical monitoring. The ability and willingness to perform fieldwork and travel are also required.
