Senior Environmental Specialist –Air Permitting and Compliance
Where will you work: The successful candidate will work at one of the following facilities: FishHawk (13830 Circa Crossing Drive | Lithia, FL 33547), Bartow (3200 HIGHWAY 60 WEST | BARTOW, FL 33830), or Uncle Sam (7250 HIGHWAY 44 |UNCLE SAM, LA 70792)
How will you work: You will be eligible to work a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.
We’re looking for a Senior Environmental Specialist to join our team! In this role, you’ll take the lead on environmental compliance, permitting, education, and stewardship for our facilities. In this role, you’ll evaluate plant operations to ensure they meet current and upcoming environmental regulations, advise management on compliance and spearhead environmental improvements. You’ll also conduct inspections with regulatory agents, prepare and submit regulatory reports and permit applications, and interpret regulatory language to determine its applicability. Plus, you’ll negotiate requirements with regulatory agencies and respond to “on call” environmental issues. This position primarily supports air permitting and compliance programs. What you’ll do:
Ensure compliance with all environmental requirements through inspections, testing, and evaluation of plant operations.
Develop and implement plans and procedures for use at multiple Mosaic locations.
Analyze process and environmental data for compliance and trend evaluations.
Prepare reports for regulatory agencies, management, community groups, and other stakeholders.
Serve as “on-call” environmental coordinator, responding to issues such as spill reporting, waste management, wastewater, storm water, drinking water, radiation, air emissions, and agency inspections.
Coordinateair permit applications, from identifying the need for the permit through application, agency negotiations, and issuance.
Advise and coach contractors and site environmental staff, depending on work location.
Manage environmental aspects of projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and selecting contractors.
Provide work direction to the team and offer timely, constructive feedback.
Manage performance issues and develop employees to retain and grow organizational talent.
What you’ll need:
Bachelor's Degree , with a major in Environmental/Environmental Health, Engineering or Environmental Science.
5+ years of Industrial Manufacturing experience
3+ years of Environmental and Permitting Regulatory Matters experience
3+ years experience with Title V air permitting and compliance programs
3+ years of relevant environmental regulatory compliance experience will be considered in lieu of specific Title V air expertise
Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite

Professional Engineer (PE) Certificate (FL or LA)
Professional Geologist Certificate
Drinking Water Testing Certificate
Waste Water Testing Certificate
Visible Emissions evaluator certification
40 hour radiation safety officer certification
