The National Sustainability Manager will play a crucial role in developing and implementing sustainability strategies across a portfolio of commercial and industrial properties.
The role offers a strategic element as it will be influential in defining and delivering JLL’s expanding range of sustainability services, goals, and initiatives.
You will collaborate with clients, internal teams, and industry partners to promote sustainable practices and drive innovation.
Key responsibilities include.
Assist with embedding sustainability principals driven out of certifications into day-to-day operations of the assets and provide guidance to site/s when onboarding new team members. Manage sustainable certifications and reporting processes for Green Star, NABERS, WELL, other relevant standards.
Energy and Emissions Management. Monitor and report energy usage and carbon emissions across properties, identifying any concerning spikes for the site teams to investigate.
Monitor water consumption and identify efficiency improvements. Coordinate waste reduction and recycling programs. Engage with waste management contractors to ensure supporting documentation is provided for optimal waste outcomes (i.e. FAQ’s specific to each asset, signage updated to reflect stream changes, and communications around any legislative changes impacting the buildings and tenants regarding waste).
Collect sustainability data (energy, water, waste) for internal and external reporting.
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual portfolio sustainability reporting. Support GRESB, NGERS, and other relevant reporting requirements.
Engage with asset teams, and contractors to raise sustainability awareness. Assist in organising training sessions and workshops.
Support the Eco Concierge program and promote sustainability achievements.
Assist site teams with Green leasing obligations and the impacts that has on day-to-day operations for both the site and the tenant partner.
Facilitate documentation sharing where tenants have sustainability ambitions that are aided by the base building.
Work with site teams to support tenants in reducing emissions, working towards Absolute Zero target.
Before you apply it's also worth knowing what we are looking for.
You hold several years of experience in Sustainability Management roles, particularly in the real estate or facilities management sector, with a strong understanding of emerging sustainability trends and technologies.
You have experience managing teams and projects on a national scale and are proficient in measuring and reporting on sustainability metrics.
You hold superior communication skills and can provide expert advice to clients on sustainable real estate practices, green building certifications, and energy efficiency measures.
