JOIN THE PLANET COMMISSION
The Decathlon Outdoor adventure began in Grenoble 10 years ago. This small project reunited 3 persons around the same concern : to help people going on a hike safely, has grown year after year to become one of the top application in France for hiking. Today we are more than 60 collaborators focusing on offer the best outdoor experience to our 2,4 million users across France and more to come with new European countries to be open soon.
With the Planet Commission, we are doing our possible to stay compliant with the Paris COP21's agreement, developing several projects about our carbon footprint or biodiversity impact through Decathlon Outdoor's activity.
As part of an internal internship opening, we are recruiting a Sustainable Development Project Manager (Intern), preferably based in Grenoble, or if necessary in Lyon.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Carbon footprint & decarbonization
- Coordinate and optimize data collection for Decathlon Outdoor's 2024 carbon footprint, in collaboration with our carbon expert
- Contribute to our partners' awareness-raising project
- Undertake initiatives to reduce emissions linked to travel, food and premises in particular
Awareness
- Raising awareness among teammates: organizing workshops, screenings, etc.
- Support teammates in defining and achieving their sustainable development performance objectives
How the commission works
- Prepare committee meetings
- Write and share regular reports on the progress of commission projects.
- Benchmark actions carried out by other similar companies, in order to draw inspiration from them.
- Facilitate the induction of new commission members
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- You're comfortable with project management and know how to plan, coordinate and carry out different initiatives.
- You're a self-starter with good interpersonal skills, and you know how to mobilize the right people to move a project forward.
- Your strengths include synthesizing complex information and communicating it clearly and effectively.
- You're comfortable writing in English and have the capacity to speak and write in French.
- You are particularly interested in environmental issues, especially climate change, and have a general knowledge of sustainability recommendations.
- You're flexible and can adapt to new projects and changing circumstances.
Bonus (skills appreciated) :
- You have completed a course of study specializing in CSR or sustainable development, or have had one or more professional experiences in this field.
- You are comfortable analyzing data, creating graphs and interpreting figures.
- You're particularly sensitive to the impact of sports on your interpersonal and team values!
