We are hiring for a driven Sustainability Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to make an impact on Lonza's sustainability journey and the customers that we serve!
The role is based in Colmar, France.
As Manager, CHI Sustainability scope 1,2,3 & Product Carbon Footprint, you’ll work closely with CHI key stakeholders from most departments (Operations, procurement, Supply Chain, Research & Development, new product development…). You will contribute to the implementation of Lonza Capsules & Health Ingredient’s sustainability strategic roadmap, by supporting decisions backed by data. You will develop & implement strategies to increase carbon transparency and climate resiliency of Lonza Capsules & Health Ingredient product portfolio and minimize the environmental impacts throughout the CHI products' life cycle.
This role calls for a resourceful and driven individual with confirmed project management expertise and experience collaborating in diverse cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate should possess excellent organizational abilities and be skilled at prioritizing multiple tasks concurrently.
Key responsibilities:
Leading the development of Life Cycle Assessment analytical tool capabilities
Benchmarking tools, assessing fit with Lonza ERP environment and piloting solutions that put us ahead of competition
Ensuring Life Cycle Assessment capabilities are in line with company and customer needs, and incorporating the Scope 3 accounting tool
Launch an innovative Life Cycle Assessment software tool for business, including the setup of processes, templates etc. while building internal knowledge and competence
Using Life Cycle Assessment results for Lonza's greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and sustainability reporting
Key requirements:
Extensive experience in the field of Sustainability, Climate management and Circularity - preferably within the Pharma, Health & Nutrition or Chemistry industries
Solid understanding of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), including Methodical and technical knowledge in performing LCA calculations, along with familiarity with Life Cycle Assessment databases, software, and standards
Understanding of sustainability metrics, tools and frameworks, such as GHG Protocol, Science-Based Targets, UN SDG.
Strong skills in analyzing large & complex data (ideally familiar with programming languages for statistical/modeling and data processing)
Strong in data visualization and reporting, quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
Ability to collect, process, lead and interpret data in a form understandable to audience with various levels of knowledge on sustainability
Ability to work independently and/or collaboratively to lead multiple projects ranging from commercial to operational topics. Ability to collaborate with business and R&D to develop and leverage LCA data for customers and innovation.
Consistent record of successful project execution, particularly within a global matrixed organization
