To cope with our development, we are looking for individual who shares the same values as us to take up the position of Senior Manager - Vendor Compliance & Sustainability to serve as the Compliance Account Manager for our hardgoods customers in the U.S. and Europe. This pivotal role will focus on enhancing sustainability initiatives and ensuring compliance practices are not only met but aligned with the evolving expectations of customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social compliance frameworks, industry best practices, and sustainability initiatives, and the ability to lead impactful initiatives across our supply chain in relation to hardgoods.
Here is what you need to know about this role:
Compliance Account Management: Act as the primary Compliance Account Manager for hardgoods customers in the U.S. and Europe, ensuring that sustainability requirements are prioritized, and compliance standards are met in alignment with customer expectations.
Customer Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with customers by understanding and addressing their sustainability goals and compliance concerns, providing expert guidance on best practices in corporate social responsibility and environmental stewardship.
Assessments and Audits: Collaborate with in-country teams to conduct comprehensive assessments and audits of suppliers and manufacturing partners, with a specific focus on their adherence to sustainable practices, ethical sourcing, and environmental standards.
Incident Investigations: Lead incident investigations related to non-compliance and sustainability challenges, working closely with stakeholders to ensure swift resolutions and implement preventive measures that promote sustainable practices.
Strategy Development: Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s sustainability and social compliance strategy tailored specifically for hardgoods operations, with an emphasis on innovative practices that drive environmental responsibility.
Trend Monitoring: Monitor and analyze emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in sustainability and social compliance within the hardgoods industry. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to both internal teams and customers, emphasizing proactive and forward-thinking solutions.
Customer Reporting and Communication: Regularly communicate progress on sustainability initiatives and compliance metrics to customers, ensuring transparency and fostering a culture of accountability.
Training and Capacity Building: Lead training sessions for internal teams and suppliers on sustainability standards and practices specific to the hardgoods sector, enhancing understanding and commitment to sustainable compliance.
Cultural Advocacy: Promote a culture of environmental responsibility and sustainability across the organization, encouraging innovative solutions and sustainable practices in all operations.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with external stakeholders and industry groups, to align the company's practices with emerging trends in social compliance and sustainability, enhancing reputation and accountability.
You might be a good fit if you have...
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Environmental Science, Business Administration or related disciplines, Master’s Degree preferred.
Minimum 12 years working experience in social compliance, corporate social responsibility (CSR), or sustainability preferably within large retailers.
Strong knowledge of international labor standards and compliance frameworks (e.g., BSCI, SMETA, SA8000, WRAP) and sustainability practices applicable to hardgoods.
Experienced in engaging suppliers in China.
Ability to identify risks and recommend corrective actions.
Excellent organizational and project management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights for compliance management.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders, including customers and suppliers.
High level of integrity and ethical standards, with a commitment to social and environmental responsibility.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office especially in PowerPoint and Excel. Ability to acquire new technologies and systems quickly.
Work with global team across multiple time zones and must be willing to participate in off-hours conference calls.
Ability to travel internationally.
Candidate with more experience will be considered as Divisional Manager.
