EPDhas an opening for a project manager in the GPG.The GPGmanages a CERCLAcleanup program for DOE as the lead organization in a tri-party Federal Facilities Agreement (FFA) with USEPA and NYSDEC. Work activities include contaminant characterization, monitoring, reporting, remediation, surveillance and maintenance, and stakeholder communications.An important aspect of this role is managing the completion of high-quality reports and other correspondence. Additionalresponsibilities includecommunications with regulators and other stakeholders, tracking and maintaining project schedules and budgets, technical document reviews and supporting numerous projects and actions undertaken by the GPG.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Implementing the reporting elements for GPG and meeting the schedule requirements of the FFA. Includes overseeing the development and timely submission of GPG reportsincluding, but not limited to, the Annual Groundwater Status Report, CERCLA Five-Year Review, Annual Schedules and Land Use and Institutional Controls (LUIC) Reports, Quarterly Groundwater Treatment System Operations Report, Monthly Discharge Monitoring Report, petitions for shutdown/closure of groundwater treatment systems, and other progress and status reports.
Managing the LUIC program for formerly remediated areas across the site, including routine inspections, maintaining LUIC mapping website fact sheets, and preparing the annual regulatory status summary report.
Communicating work status and progress to stakeholders including BNL management, DOE, regulatory agencies and public. This includes weekly and monthly status reports and coordinating monthly calls with BNL, DOE, and regulators.
Collaborating with GPG Manager and team to plan, develop and execute various technical requests and initiatives. Developing work plans/scopes, contract and budget management, project management, and execution.
Working with GPG QA Chemist, database programmer, and field sampling team to coordinate and implement groundwater and remediation system monitoring programs including scheduling, sample collection, contract lab analysis, and data management.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience in work plan development, implementing field investigations, data collection, analysis, and interpretation, and report writing.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Familiarity with environmental databases, Graphic Information Systems (GIS) or other environmental mapping software. Experience using Microsoft Office products for developing reports, tables, presentations, and use of SharePoint.
Environmental, Health & Safety Requirements:
40 Hour OSHSA Hazwoper Training (Preferred)
