ADAC’s paid summer internship program takes place each year in May and runs through August. For 13 weeks, you will apply the concepts you have learned in the classroom to actual business situations and scenarios. Take advantage of your summer break to build your resume, learn and grow in a real-world environment.
The program features collaboration among your fellow interns and ADAC professionals. In addition to team-based community outreach and philanthropic initiatives, the internship program concludes with a final joint capstone project and presentation. The project requires you to apply your research, problem solving and innovation skills to understand and identify a solution to a specific and relevant company business opportunity or challenge.
To complete the capstone, your program cohort will formally present your recommendations to ADAC’s executive team.
Position Summary:
The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Intern is responsible for assisting the EHS team with the further development and implementation of the ADAC S.A.F.E and Environmental Management processes as assigned throughout the organization.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Research, interpret, and assure compliance and conformance to all State and Federal EHS regulations/standards company wide.
- Assist in general oversight for all Environmental, Health, & Safety related matters throughout the organization.
- Assist with Incident investigations, injury recordkeeping, and employee relations as needed
- Participate in EHS task teams
- Assist with EH&S educational opportunities as needed throughout the organization.
Education & Experience:
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Occupational Safety & Health Management.
- Previous health & safety internship experience is preferred.
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- The ability to discuss, problem solve and promote innovative ideas that will build strong internal confidence.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must demonstrate effective communication and time management skills when interfacing with various functional groups.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others.
