A Brief Overview
Safelite Auto Glass is hiring an Environmental Engineer to oversee environmental strategies, action plans, and policies. The role includes ensuring environmental law compliance, managing RCRA and Hazardous Materials processes, and reporting on environmental performance. The engineer will also perform impact assessments to minimize environmental risks and collaborate with different business units to establish eco-friendly operations and training procedures. Candidates should have at least five years of experience in environmental engineering or management, including familiarity with environmental regulations across various states. Leadership skills and the ability to drive change are essential. The engineer will assist in identifying and evaluating environmental impacts from technology or policy decisions, estimate and evaluate environmental consequences of programs, and report findings on environmental consequences policies and technologies. They should be able to research and understand environmental requirements, perform technical and mathematical analyses, and work directly with customer safety officers and facility management. Familiarity with OSHA and EPA safety requirements is expected.
What you will do
Develop and implement environmental training strategies and action plans, to ensure compliance and environmental stewardship.
Coordinate all aspects of RCRA, Hazardous and Regulated wastes, processes and reporting.
Identify Air Emissions, Stormwater, SWPP and NPDES applicability across US locations.
Implement auditing and inspection processes to ensure environmental compliance with federal and state legislation.
Develop leading and lagging KPIs to analyze environmental compliance, spend trends and opportunities to reduce environmental footprint for internal and external clients; and any legally required regulatory bodies.
Carry out impact assessments to identify, assess and reduce an organization’s environmental risks.
Performs other duties as assigned

Ensure operations are environmentally friendly and compliant.
Work with multiple functions throughout the business to create processes and trainings.
What You'll Need
Bachelor's Degree A bachelor’s degree in an environmentally related discipline such as environmental management, project management, natural resource management, environmental engineering, environmental policy or a related field. Required
4-6 years Experience directly related to environmental engineering or management.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Environmental certifications are a benefit.
