STV is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Sustainability Intern to join our Sustainable Design team. This internship offers an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate-level candidates to work alongside our experienced team, learn, and contribute to meaningful projects. This hybrid position requires at least 3 days a week in the office. Preference will be given to those who can participate in the internship for at least 3 months.
Responsibilities:
Support the team in understanding and implementing independent agency sustainability programs, such as the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) Sustainable Building Guidelines and New York City Green Schools Guide (NYCGSG).
Research and stay current with environmental regulations, standards, and industry trends to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Assist in preparing training materials and sessions on LEED and Envision systems for staff.
Contribute to the preparation of LEED and Envision portions of proposal scopes and fees.
Support the tracking and management of LEED and Envision project budgets.
Collaborate with project engineers, architects, project managers, and specification writers to prepare sustainability goals and ensure all compliance paths are explored and adopted.
Participate in meetings and discussions related to sustainability goals and strategies.
Perform ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned by the sustainability team.
Required:
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental engineering, sustainability, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of LEED development.
Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, standards, and best practices, with the ability to interpret and apply them within an organizational context.
Experience in the architecture/engineering/construction management industry.
Compensation Range:
$46,713.00 - $62,284.00
