Position: Environmental Educator

Salary: $20.00 per hour
Job Description: The Environmental Educator�s primary responsibility is the development, implementation and evaluation of mission focused education and training programs to a wide variety of audiences including Adirondack residents, visitors, students, and other members of the public. The Environmental Educator will be supervised by the Education and Outreach Manager.
Hours and Pay: The Environmental Educator works 8 hours per day, up to 40 hours per week, from May 27 - September 1, 2025. Some weekend and holiday work is required. Part-time work may be available through October 13, 2025, contingent on funding availability. The Environmental Educator is paid an hourly rate starting at $20.00 per hour.
Duties and Responsibilities:
� Collaborate with AWI staff and partners to plan, promote, implement, and evaluate education and outreach events.
� Contribute to AWI�s website and social media platforms.
� Perform other tasks as assigned to meet the mission of AWI.
Qualifications: Required
� Work, coursework, or volunteer experience leading formal and informal education programs.
� Experience with digital marketing and communications; blog posts, social media, etc.
� Proven interpersonal communication skills.
� Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
� General understanding of the environmental or natural sciences.
� Ability to work some weekends and holidays.
� Must be 21 years old or older with a valid driver�s license and driving record acceptable to PSC insurance carrier and AWI, which will enable authorization to drive College-owned vehicles.
Qualifications: Preferred
� Pursuing or obtained bachelor�s degree.
� Interest in watershed education, environmental education, and community outreach.
� Experience working with the public, working in both fast-paced and slow-paced environments.
� Involvement with organizing, planning, or facilitating events.
� Familiarity with motor-boats, canoes, or kayaks.
