We are seeking a highly organized, hands-on, and proactive Environmental Advisor to focus on integrating emissions, water, and biodiversity initiatives into the company’s ESG strategy. This role will work in close collaboration with the ESG Program Advisor and report to the ESG Manager, contributing to the seamless execution of the overall ESG agenda.
The Environmental Advisor will lead efforts to align environmental objectives with business operations, embedding sustainability principles across teams while ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks. You will play a key role in supporting the organization's environmental goals, focusing on carbon emission, biodiversity conservation, and water stewardship.
This position is ideal for an individual contributor passionate about operational excellence and sustainability. You will actively drive environmental projects, manage data and reporting requirements, and foster collaboration across functions to achieve measurable outcomes.
Your responsibilities
Collaborate with the ESG team to implement initiatives addressing biodiversity, water management, and environmental performance.
Lead the preparation, review, and submission of environmental sections of ESG reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks (CSRD, EU Taxonomy) and alignment with company goals.
Act as the key point of contact for environmental projects, engaging cross-functional teams to integrate environmental practices into daily operations.
Develop and oversee environmental data collection processes, including water consumption metrics, biodiversity assessments, and emissions tracking.
Monitor progress on environmental objectives, identifying areas for improvement and proposing corrective actions.
Lead our climate Science Based Targets programme, covering emissions across scope 1 to 3 and bringing the different parts of the business together to drive emissions reductions.
Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, NGOs, and industry peers, to stay informed of emerging trends and best practices.
Contribute to the design and execution of special environmental initiatives, such as restoration projects, ecosystem services valuation, or climate adaptation strategies.
Collaborate with Group Finance and other teams to ensure accurate reporting of environmental performance metrics.
What you bring
Over 10 years of experience in industrial companies, with a strong focus on environmental management, sustainability, or ESG.
Expertise in biodiversity conservation, water stewardship, and environmental impact assessment.
Experience working with calculating emissions using the GHG Protocol and setting and managing reductions targets with the Science Based Targets initiative.
Solid understanding of ESG frameworks, particularly those relevant to environmental reporting (CSRD, EU Taxonomy, TCFD).
Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple initiatives and deliver results.
Proficiency in environmental data analysis and reporting systems.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
Hands-on experience driving operational environmental initiatives.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
