Job Description: Environmental, Health and Safety Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a key driver of safety culture to join the Kendrick team! In this role you will be responsible to implement and drive programs to eliminate the risk of occupational injury and illness and ensure environmental compliance throughout the organization. You will organize specific actions to assure the Company’s compliance of all federal, state, and local environmental regulations and rules, including those related to occupational health and safety. This person is the Champion for the Company’s risk management program and will work to minimize the physical and financial exposure resulting from potential, alleged or actual on-the-job injuries/illness, and environmental non-compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and standards.
- Develop and implement EHS management systems.
- Conduct EHS audits and inspections.
- Provide EHS training to employees.
- Investigate accidents and incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Manage hazardous waste and hazardous materials.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure EHS compliance.
Work Experience
- ISO 14001 Program Experience
- Experience with flammable chemical processes
- Strong Presentations and training skills in small and large groups.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree and minimum of 10 years’ experience in a Company environmental health and safety management position, or 4-year degree in occupational health, environmental management, or related degree program.
- EHS Internal Auditor certification is a plus.
- Stormwater Certification from EGLE, DOT Hazardous Materials Transportation, and RCRA Training.
Working Conditions:
The Environmental, Health and Safety Manager will be required to have a regular presence at the facility in Grand Rapids. Travel is less than 10%, as needed to meet organization needs.
