Summary:
AirAsia is seeking to recruit a new team member to deliver its Sustainability commitments and cascade group-wide goals in our effort to meet the highest Environmental, Social and Governance standards. S/he will report to the Manager of Group Sustainability and work towards addressing factors that contribute to the long term sustainability of aviation.
What You'll Champion:
Lead the implementation of the Carbon Offsetting & Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) scheme in accordance with ICAO guidelines.
Monitor, report and verify carbon emissions of all relevant AOCs and submit annual reports as per regulatory requirements
Maintain manuals, SOPs and monitoring plans as part of department documentation and practice of good governance
Optimise and improve the performance of the carbon dashboards for data collection efficiency and accuracy
Maintain regular contact with all AOC focal points and other stakeholders to ensure AirAsia is updated on the latest CORSIA requirements
Monitor and review CORSIA news and publications to ensure AirAsia is compliant with the latest regulatory requirements.
Create communication content to raise awareness to AirAsia’s sustainability agenda among employees and external stakeholders.
Strategise and propose sustainability initiatives to improve resource efficiency (waste management, utilities consumption)
Collect and analyse company-wide data on effectiveness of sustainability initiatives and make recommendations for improvement
Support Sustainability team members in implementing initiatives and producing the annual Sustainability Report
The candidate should be:
Enthusiastic and capable of working on several projects simultaneously
Creative, detail-oriented, good with numbers, and able to find solutions to unexpected problems
Comfortable with independently planning tasks and managing time, including the tracking and processing of information in a fast-moving environment
Who You Are:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analysis or related subject and 1-3 years experience (in aviation or Sustainability)
Good knowledge of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), sustainability concept & principles
Conversant with Corporate Responsibility best practices and sustainability reporting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in CORSIA and cross-functional project management would be an advantage
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Google sheets application, Google Data Studio team and Airline Information Management System
