The selected candidate will have an opportunity to be part of a large Environment, Health & Safety organization in the role of an EH&S Specialist. The selected candidate must be a self-starter, energetic and able to work in a fast-pace collaborative team environment.
This ideal candidate acts as a partner in EH&S by formulating and administering EH&S plans and procedures including EH&S Program Management. Has responsibility for multiple EH&S specialties. May perform tasks associated with Health/Safety and Environmental/Compliance. Coordinates with business partners for EH&S concerns regarding facilities and employee practices. May have responsibility for facilities and/or medical at a site. Organizes and maintains EH&S policies to achieve and maintain compliance with regulations. Manages relationships across other specialized departments to achieve and maintain compliance with EH&S regulations and RTX requirements.
What You Will Do
- Assigned EH&S duties may include but are not limited to:
- Under the direction of the EH&S Manager, support and implement Safety and Environmental programs including, but not limited to, LOTO, Electrical Safety, Machine Guarding, Contractor Safety, and Job Hazard Assessments
- Monitors, administers, evaluates and coordinates company EH&S programs to ensure a safe workplace
- Develops and advises employee workplace programs related to safety and environmental health
- Coordinates confirmation of policies and programs in accordance with industry and government regulations
- Collaborates across departments to achieve and maintain consistency of EH&S program implementation
- Conduct regular site inspections for compliance with EH&S programs
- Analysis of leading and lagging safety performance indicators for trends to drive corrective actions
- Serve as EHS representative for assigned building and functional safety council
- Conduct injury investigations and root cause analysis, develop corrective actions and track to completion
- Contribute to the development and implementation of EH&S strategic initiatives that drive continuous improvement
- Develop programs, processes and procedures to improve EH&S programs, culture for employees and contractors
- Support the improvement of business and site EH&S communications plan
- Support emergency response and enterprise preparedness programs
- Provide instructor led training on various safety topics
- Provide support for other site EH&S programs such as safety and environmental
- Support the site to meet EH&S requirements for upcoming internal and external audits including Cal VPP, AS9100 and other internal company assessments
- May need to travel to support Enterprise and Raytheon initiatives
- Interpretation of OSHA, NIOSH, ANSI standards and regulations
Qualifications you must have:
- Typically requires Bachelor's degree in related field in Environmental & Occupational Health.
- 5 year of experience in environment, health and safety with increasing experience supporting environmental health and safety programs.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Prior relevant experience with Ergonomic and Industrial Hygiene programs.
- Experience in the development and execution of RCCAs
- Experienced in EH&S training.
- Ability to handle potentially stressful situations
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, but will not hesitate to seek additional information from supervisors or peers so tasks can be completed timely and correctly

The salary range for this role is 85,000 USD - 179,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
