Summary of the role:
The Environment, Health, and Safety Administration Coordinator, as part of Jones Lang LaSalle Resilience and EHS department, is to assist Cognizant in maintaining documentation of Cognizant’s Environment, Health, and Safety standards, ISO14001 an ISO45001 certifications and compliance with local EHS regulations. As an EHS Administration Coordinator, they function as the point of contact for support and will help coordinate escalation to Cognizant’s regional EHS Lead for all office facility Environment, Health & Safety matters. This role will report to the JLL Global HSSE Manager, but on a day-to-day basis will support Cognizant’s regional EHS Lead. This is a support role and at no time will these coordinators represent Cognizant in any fashion especially with any local regulatory agencies or government agencies.
Job Description (Key Responsibilities):
Key Responsibilities include the below but are not limited to:
- Engage across all sites and support the Cognizant’s GWS (Global Workplace Services) team to assist with documentation of the Global EHS policy.
- Support Cognizant’s HSE personnel in external and Internal Audit and certification process, following Cognizant’s internal procedures.
- Assist with periodic safety inspections using Cognizant’s standard checklist and as scheduled by Cognizant.
- Track and monitor Cognizant’s EHS Objective and Cognizant’s implementation for related activities.
- Assist with scheduling and tracking of safety committee meetings with Associate and Landlords.
- Prepare documents compiling monthly and yearly EHS data and statistics for Cognizant’s internal review.
- Cognizant must verify accuracy of such statistics prior to their use with any governmental entity, accreditation body or other third party.
- Conducting floor level EHS awareness for Cognizant associate
- Collect EHS related feedback from Cognizant sites/employees and communicate that feedback to Cognizant’s regional EHS Lead.
- Assist with scheduling and tracking of site safety committee meetings / Management review meeting for the region and tracking of action items to closure by the responsible party as applicable.
- Send reports to JLL and Cognizant Global HSSE Manager and Cognizant’s regional HSE Lead.
- Supporting and coordinating in any External inspection/ survey / testing
- Inspection of first aid kits, monthly fire extinguisher & visual inspection of AED, gas suppression system
- Verify and track the number of Emergency Response Team (first aiders) across different floors and shifts and report the same as compared to Cognizant’s internal standards.
- Assist with scheduling of Cognizant-led emergency preparedness drills as per local jurisdiction / guidelines and or Cognizant documents or procedure and document any noted action items for resolution to Cognizant’s regional EHS Lead.
- Verify documentation of applicable facility asbestos records (where present) by a third party to be retained by Cognizant and distribute records to Cognizant’s designated recipients.
- Conduct Cognizant’s external vendor/contractor/landlord evaluations to Cognizant’s EHS standards, with the support of local GWS inputs.
- As per EHS monitoring plan coordinate with external testing and monitoring agency to conduct survey and prepare action plan for Cognizant review for any deficiencies identified in the third-party reports.
- Support Cognizant’s Corporate/ Central EHS team in celebrating Safety Day/ Environment Day at facility.
- Regular reporting of facility Targets & Objectives to JLL Global HSSE Manager, Cognizant’s regional EHS Lead, and other recipients as designated by Cognizant.
- Support Cognizant Facility GWS & Central EHS team in preparing the EHS budget.
- Assist and support facility GWS in conducting ergonomic assessment for associate related activities.
- Some traveling could be expected.
Key Deliverables:
- Support documentation of Cognizant’s compliance with its internal EHS Management System policies, procedures, consultation, and reporting requirements across all sites (both ISO 45001/14001 certified and non-certified).
- Identifying opportunities for improvement and solutions to existing and potential EHS challenges for Cognizant review
- Tracking of Cognizant’s internal and external audit findings and workplace inspections and reporting of Cognizant’s completion of action items to address nonconformities, observations, and opportunities for improvement by the applicable Cognizant team.
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in safety management, industrial hygiene, environmental science, or relevant field.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree; degree may be waived if >3 years’ experience or hold HSE certificate and/or professional certification(s).
- Proven record of success with project management skills.
- Broad based knowledge of Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health regulations.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively and cooperatively interface with peers, colleagues and clients.
- Analytical and creative problem-solving skills, and ability to employ flexibility
Estimated total compensation for this position:
115,000.00 – 115,000.00 USD per year
The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
