At Rogue Valley Door, we specialize in producing high-quality wood doors while prioritizing the safety of our team and the environment. We're seeking an experienced EHS Specialist to lead our safety initiatives and help us maintain a high standard of workplace safety and regulatory compliance.

Job Summary:

The EHS Specialist will manage plant-wide safety programs, coordinate injury reporting, and oversee workers' compensation processes while also ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. You’ll work through the management team to foster a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Program Management:
- Ensure safety policies and procedures are understood and enforced throughout the organization
- Develop and conduct regular safety trainings with employees
- Work with managers to conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
Incident Management:
- Coordinate injury reporting and manage workers' compensation claims.
- Lead investigations of accidents and work with production managers to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents and safety activities.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA regulations and other relevant safety laws.
- Stay updated on changes in safety regulations and update company policies accordingly.
- Prepare and submit required regulatory reports and documentation.
Culture Building:
- Promote a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.
- Chair the Safety Committee, facilitating meetings and driving safety initiatives.
- Collaborate with management to integrate safety into daily operations.

Qualifications:

3-5 years of experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing environment; wood products experience is a plus.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management practices.
Experience with injury reporting and workers' compensation processes.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
A bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred. Relevant experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.
