Summary
For the “Environmental Testing” department, we are looking for a Master's student (f/m/d) in fatigue strength (comparison of simulation and testing) at the Ulm site as soon as possible.
The “Environmental Testing” department carries out reliability calculations, fluid and structural mechanical calculations and product safety analyses for system integrity to support mechanical and electrical development and regulatory approval. Experimental tasks include climatic, mechanical (vibration, shock) and electromagnetic testing.
Your Tasks
Performance of a computational fatigue strength analysis using FEM to determine the service life of a sample geometry
Carrying out tests to measure the service life
Comparison of the service life of measurement and simulation
Comparison of different types of excitation
Consideration of different materials/manufacturing processes (e.g. CFRP, wrought aluminum alloy, 3D printed aluminum)
Validation of the FEM results
Your Profile
Student of a Master's degree program in mechanical engineering, physics, aerospace engineering or similar
Basic knowledge in the field of technical mechanics
Basic knowledge of FEM desirable
Goal-oriented thinking and ability to work in a team
Willingness to familiarize yourself with new topics
Independent, solution-oriented work
Enjoy working in an interdisciplinary team
Very good knowledge of German and good knowledge of English
