SUMMARY:The Sustainability and Facilities Specialist is responsible for supporting the efficient operation of our facilities while driving sustainability initiatives that align and support the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. This role involves coordinating facility maintenance, managing sustainability projects, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. The ideal candidate is passionate about sustainability, effective communicator, detail-oriented, and skilled in project management.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sustainability
- Sustainability Strategy Development: Collaborate with management to develop and implement sustainability road map, strategies, policies, and practices across the organization.
- Energy Management: Monitor and manage energy consumption; implement energy-saving initiatives and track progress towards energy reduction goals.
- Waste Reduction: Develop programs to reduce waste, increase recycling, and promote the use of sustainable materials.
- Sustainability Reporting: Collect and analyze data on sustainability metrics and prepare reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
- Sustainability Education: Educate staff and stakeholders on sustainability practices, including organizing training sessions and awareness campaigns.
- Green Certifications: Manage processes related to obtaining and maintaining green building certifications (e.g., LEED, WELL).
- Vendor and Contractor Relations: Work with vendors and contractors to ensure that sustainability standards are met in procurement and operations.
- Sustainable Procurement: Ensure that procurement practices align with sustainability goals, including sourcing eco-friendly products and services.
Facilities
- Facility Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of facilities to ensure they meet safety, health, and environmental standards.
- Vendor Management: Oversee the work of external service providers, such as cleaning, security, and maintenance contractors, to ensure high service levels.
- Project Management: Support facilities-related projects, such as renovations, relocations, or the implementation of new systems.
- Asset Management: Track and manage facility assets & building systems.
Data and Reporting
- Assist in the development of key performance metrics and indicators to monitor and assess progress towards achieving facilities and sustainability goals.
- Maintain accurate records of facility maintenance activities and sustainability metrics.
- Prepare and present regular reports on facility operations and sustainability progress to management.
- Assist in the development of sustainability-related content for internal and external communications.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree ideally in Science in Environmental/Sustainable Management, Sustainable Business, or related field to wellness/sustainability
- OR an additional 3 years of specific work experience in lieu of degree.
- 4 years of relevant/technical work experience.
- Demonstrated ability in leading sustainability and facilities strategies and programs.
- Knowledge of key sustainability principles and zero-waste programs as they relate to our industry.
- Financial and technical capabilities to develop strong business cases.
- Ability to be recognized as a sustainability leader inside and outside the company.
- Strong customer relationship skills and ability to proactively address their wants and needs.
- Effective influencing skills to obtain support for initiatives and challenging the status quo.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of sustainability market trends and opportunities.
- Ability to travel up to 30%.
- Proven analytical skills.
- Self-starter with excellent dependability, judgment and integrity.
