Job Description

Job Purpose:

Our client, a leading EPC company in the renewable energy sector, is seeking an experienced Solar PV Project Manager to oversee the successful planning, execution, and completion of solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in South Africa. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and extensive experience managing large-scale solar PV projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Oversee the end-to-end management of solar PV projects, from initial planning to commissioning and handover, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance on electrical systems, designs, and installations for solar PV projects, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Budget & Schedule Management: Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resources, ensuring milestones are met and costs are controlled.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure that all projects comply with local regulations, industry standards, and safety protocols.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to prevent project delays or issues.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field).
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in managing large-scale Solar PV projects, preferably with an EPC background.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of solar PV systems and electrical engineering principles.
    • Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
    • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements in South Africa.
