About the role: As Director of Project Management, you will be responsible for supporting the successful initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, and closeout of all of the Company’s project portfolios in addition to overseeing the Project Management Team. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with project managers, project leads, operations managers, operators, and engineering professionals working on projects. A representative cross section of key responsibilities is presented below.
Supervisory Responsibilities:This position will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of a team of project managers that is responsible for executing civil, mechanical, electrical, and controls projects across our portfolio of hydroelectric plants. Systems include dams, intakes, penstocks, powerhouses, fish ladders and passages, turbines, generators, powertrain components, auxiliary mechanical systems, electrical switchgear, transformers, PLC control systems, protective relaying, floodgate lifting mechanisms, environmental protection equipment, and other systems.

What you’ll do:- Lead the Project Management Team and work to ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Coordinate internal resources as well as vendors for the successful execution of projects.
- Drive and oversee the establishment and implementation of efficient workflow processes and tools to track non-routine O&M and projects from identification to resolution ensuring that tools provide adequate reporting of both budget, cost, and schedule.
- Drive the development of Project Management Training (across teams).
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to track and monitor project progress.
- Drive the development of tools/templates for cost estimating and budgeting, scheduling, work breakdown structure, etc. to support Project Leads in the initiation, planning, and execution of projects.
- Drive the development of processes and procedures to ensure project documentation is well managed, organized, and stored during the entire project life cycle.
- Work with external consultants and internal stakeholders as needed on the development of tools, processes, and procedures to ensure successful and efficient project delivery.
- Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency.
- If necessary, serve as a Project Manager who establishes budget, schedule and executes electrical, mechanical, civil, and controls projects.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What skills and experience you’ll need:- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field with 8+ years of technical experience or 15+ years of experience in the hydroelectric industry managing civil, mechanical, electrical, and controls projects.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and oversee teams executing projects.
- A broad range of experience and a strong technical background executing civil, mechanical, electrical, and controls projects.
- The ability to travel for project supervision and execution (~30%).
