Project Engineer Renewables

Our client is a leader in the renewable energy sector, specialising in the development, installation, and maintenance of large-scale solar photovoltaic projects. 

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to oversee the installation and commissioning of commercial and ground-mount solar projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of projects. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the role involves liaising with key stakeholders including clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and the internal technical team.

• Lead and manage all aspects of solar projects, from initiation to completion.
  
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned on expectations.
  
• Oversee site activities including installation, commissioning, and testing of solar systems, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  
• Ensure projects meet technical specifications and quality standards, adhering to ISO 9001/14001/45001 QHES Systems.
  
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and local authorities to secure permits and approvals, and to ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  
• Manage risk by identifying potential project challenges, proposing mitigation strategies, and escalating issues where necessary.
  
• Ensure efficient resource allocation, maintaining a balance between cost control and project timelines.
  
• Provide regular project status reports to senior management and key stakeholders.
  
• Facilitate project handover to operations and maintenance teams upon completion.
  

What You'll Need:

• A Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Renewable Energy) is desirable 
  
• Proven track record in managing the delivery of large-scale solar farm projects or similar infrastructure projects.
  
• Experience in the installation and commissioning of commercial and ground-mount solar farms.
