Job Description:
As an Electrical Quality Engineer for Solar Projects, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and safety of our solar power installations. You will be responsible for overseeing all electrical aspects of our solar projects from design through construction and commissioning. Working closely with project managers, engineers, and installation teams, you will uphold the highest standards of electrical engineering practices to optimize system performance and longevity.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality assurance procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality benchmarks throughout all stages of project development.
2. Design Review: Review electrical designs and specifications for solar power systems to identify potential issues, optimize performance, and ensure adherence to project requirements and local electrical codes.
3. Supplier and Material Evaluation: Evaluate electrical components, equipment, and materials supplied by vendors to ensure they meet specified standards and performance criteria.
4. Installation Oversight: Provide technical guidance and oversight during the installation and commissioning of solar power systems, ensuring that all electrical work is executed safely, accurately, and according to design specifications.
5. Testing and Inspection: Conduct electrical tests and inspections during various project stages to verify system functionality, identify defects or deficiencies, and ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
6. Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Identify and troubleshoot electrical issues or discrepancies that arise during project execution, proposing effective solutions to maintain project timelines and quality standards.
7. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of project activities, including inspection reports, test results, and compliance documentation. Prepare regular progress reports and communicate findings to project stakeholders as needed.
8. Continuous Improvement: Participate in lessons learned sessions and contribute to process improvements to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of future solar projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Previous experience in solar energy or renewable energy projects preferred.
- Proficiency in electrical design software and familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes (e.g., NEC, IEEE).
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and equipment used in solar power generation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Certifications such as NABCEP PV Installation Professional or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) desirable.
