Primary Function
Wor-Wic Community College continuously accepts applications for part-time credit faculty to teach trades-related courses in our Occupational and Emerging Technologies division. Part-time instructors in this category teach courses that support trades education options for our students including courses in building maintenance; electrical maintenance; heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC); mechanical maintenance; plumbing/pipefitting; renewable energy technology; and welding.
Essential Duties
The following list is not intended as, nor should it be construed as, exhaustive of all responsibilities, skills or working conditions associated with this position.
- Creates and manages an environment conducive to the student's learning of credit course material;
- Prepares and uses course syllabi and recommends appropriate textbooks;
- Meets all scheduled learning experiences, including the final examination;
- Maintains student records;
- Submits copies of course syllabi, copies of tests and the telephone number and hours he or she may be contacted;
- Submits attendance rosters, midterm grades, final grades and other information to the vice president for enrollment management and student services within the established time frame each semester;
- Conducts assigned classes in accordance with the catalog descriptions and the stipulations of the department and the college; and
- Performs other duties as assigned by the department head.
Minimum Requirements
Requirements for education and experience will vary depending on the subject area. Applicants should possess at least:
- An associate degree in an applicable field, OR a combination of formal training plus five or more years of relevant work experience
- Relevant licenses and/or certifications
Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate prior teaching experience.

Part-time credit faculty positions are not eligible for a benefits package. Faculty rank is assigned by the vice president for academic affairs, and pay is dependent on the faculty rank and course(s) assigned. The pay scale for fiscal year 2025 is shown below:
