We are currently looking for a Project Engineer
for our Utility Division that will support work in Champaign, Illinois. This is a full-time onsite position. Salary range: $100,000 to $125,000 per year
What you’ll do:- Assist with coordination and tracking of all project-related activities under the direction of the Site manager
- Gather project documentation including production numbers, weather data, cataloging photos, construction documents, project notes, equipment specifications and other relevant project information
- Create and maintain weekly job reports and track all activity as directed by the Site Manager
- Assist with troubleshooting project issues as they arise; evaluate alternatives and propose solutions
- Responsible for day-to-day project coordination, maintaining project schedules and managing project activities across multiple departments and functions under the direction of the Site manager.
- Organize, distribute, file, track and assist with customer information including contracts, correspondence, and requests for information
- Assist with establishing and maintaining manpower schedules
- Use a variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, etc., to produce correspondence and documents and to maintain presentations, records, spreadsheets and databases
- Support and manage photovoltaic, electrical, and DAS/SCADA systems maintenance including day to day troubleshooting and special projects
- Read and interpret Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Landscape drawings
- Read and interpret geotechnical, environmental, and other associated consultant reports that are necessary to build projects
- Utilize construction software or other related software to manage budgets, schedules & project documentation
- Assist in project cost management; responsible for managing change orders and tracking budget versus actuals
- Assist with other duties and responsibilities as assigned
What you’ll bring:- 6+ years of Solar PV installation experience installing both roof and ground mount systems, 3+ years of crew management experience in solar construction
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is preferred.
- Maintain a valid Driver’s License and a good driving record.
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), Uniform Building Code (UBC), local & utility jurisdiction requirements and OSHA regulations. Journeyman Electrician certification or NABCEP certification preferred.
- Certified in OSHA 30, preferred
- Willing to travel 75% of the time
- Ability to determine work priorities and review work for quality and production standards.
- Must be highly motivated, adaptable, detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work both with a team and independently.
- Must have excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Must excel with multi-tasking, problem-solving, written, and communication skills.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen
- Must have a good driving record and maintain a valid Driver’s License
